Boy did you ever get things mixed up!
Actually, it is easy to do. Mary was a common name for women in the early New Testament setting. In some places you have to look carefully to figure out which Mary was being talked about.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, was the virgin.
The "Magdalene" distinguisher appears first in Matthew 27:56 in the description of some of the women who witnessed the crucixion of Jesus. (see also Mark 15:40, 47) In Matthew 28:1, we next explicitly see Mary Magdalene mentioned, "and the other Mary", when they came to Jesus' tomb. Mark 16:1 tells explicitly who the "other Mary was".
Now in Mark 16:9, it tells that after Jesus had come back from the dead, the first person he saw was "Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils." This feature is corraborated by Luke (8:2). Luke 24:10 tells of Mary, again in the company of other women who were followers of Jesus, and how these women told Jesus' disciples that he had risen from the dead--they didn't believe the women.
John 19:25 tells of the crowd, important word, there were a lot of people there, at Jesus' crucifixion which included "his [Jesus'] mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene." John 20:1 confirms the story of Mary Magdalene going early to Jesus' tomb "on the first day of the week" (Sunday, in our current calendar), as well as (20:18) telling the disciples of Jesus being alive again.
That is all that is in the New Testament, specifically about Mary MAGDALENE. Yet, there are many women named Mary, and I'll let you read it again and sort them out.
As for being a prostitute, I chalk it up to the same kinds of things that tell us there were, specifically, three wise men that visited Jesus as a child. Somewhere, someone embellished a story, or a fact or feature got passed down but we have no firm source to attribute it to. I chalk that up to legend, a story that could be true about someone that was true but we don't have the full details to fully call it true.

no where in the book does it state Mary M was a prostitute !
No she was not a prostitute. The book in the beginning speaks about begats, but not about the sexcual act prior to birth, no where does it speak about the sexual act.
Virgin is a word that has been interpreted from an ancient script and in another language as has the whole of that book,
Look in the Old testament Numbers 28 verse one you will read the British inheritance laws for women written there. More than 2,000 years ago.!!Yet when did women get the vote never mind the inheritace laws. Notice all the surnames begin Mac were they Scots or Irish

Two different Mary's ! Mary Magdalene was a prostitute and the other Mary was the virgin when she had Jesus. It was very common in that culture to have only one name.If your name was John then it soon became common to use the name JOHN in your family. You also had names by what town you lived in like Simon of Cyrene! A lot different than today!

Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute. She was a woman who had seven demons driven out of her. Mary the mother of Jesus was another person entirely. She was a virgin who was engaged to be married to Joseph the carpenter at the time of Jesus' conception.

Mary, Decedent of David is Jesus' mother.
Mary Magdalen was from Magdalen. Some say she was a prostitute because her story is close the the parable of adultery. However, the Catholic Church changed her status in sainthood in the 1950's to celebrate her on May 25th.
There is also Mary, Lazarus's sister (Martha & Mary) who sat at Jesus' feet and listened diligently, and cryed to Jesus while she grieved over her brothers death. Jesus raised Lazerith from the dead after Mary (Martha & Mary) cryed.

they were 2 different people!! mary magdalene was a prostitute who Jesus cured of demon possession.
Jesus' mother was also called mary but was a different person, seems to have been quite a common name =] this mary was very different to mary magdalene though, the Gospels describe her as a very holy and godly woman.

yeah, there were two marys in the Jesus story. Mary- his mother, and Mary Magdalen were two different women. One of the best ways to find out about the Bible is to read it yourself- Never trust anyone else's interpretation of it.

Mary Magdalene was a prostitute who was befriended by Jesus who forgave her. She became one of his closets friends and a disciple. She was NOT his mother, not was she ever his wife as some conspiracy theorists would have it.
