I feel really bad for the guy. He got really busted up in a car wreck, but he wasn't wearing his seat belt. A state trooper was driving, do you think HE will also get a ticket? If it was an average citizen I bet it wouldn't matter how bad you are hurting, some cop would come in and lay the ticket on the little table next to your bed, then sign the cast for one of your many broken bones!
It might be interesting to follow this. If the governor doesn't get a ticket it opens the door for ALL people to claim the law doesn't apply. After all they will have set a precedent!
I hope he heals completely but lets see if a public official gets special treatment.

WADDAYASAY TO THAT?

i do not understand if he receives a cost ticket or no longer, yet he could get one. The politicians make regulations and guidelines for voters to adhere to. We get tickets if we do not buckle our seat belts. So politicians aren't from now on above the regulation. The state trooper must have instructed the governor he wasn't putting out the engine until eventually he buckled his seat belt. The trooper needs a cost ticket as well or a suspension in pay. i don't love it at the same time as "authorities" let us know to do some thing and then they don't do it. they're no longer particular.

The state trooper should have told the governor he wasn't starting the engine until he buckled his seat belt.

"Click it or ticket" is the slogan here in Jersey.

His poor judgement is going to hit us in our taxes with the helicopter flight and critical support.

Even though his driver was a trooper, I don't feel he should be issued a ticket for having an unbelted rider, as the offender was his boss.

(My wife never used to wear a belt, she said she "would rather be thrown clear". Even after we had kids and they would bug her. It was only after she saw I increased the life insurance coverage for her I got at work to $300K - then she started and hasn't quit using it since! lol)

Despite being annoyed that an otherwise intelligent person has chosen to ignore a simple and painless safety feature, I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

I think they'll ticket him. Why would he be different from anybody in New Jersey? Just because he's the Gov?
