Funny you should ask. CNN is about to show an interview with republican Senator Norm Coleman who appears to be on a bit of a hot seat for the Iraq conflict. It seems the people of Minnesota don't care for his stance. Franken looks like he might be in a battle with another democrat Mike Ciresi who barely lost a bid for the senate in 2000.

They elected Jesse Ventura governor a while back, and they were the only state to carry Mondale in 1984. So who's to say?

Al Franken might just pull it off.

I think he has just as good of a shot at it as anyone else, who knows how the votes will go down, at least he is trying to do something for his state and country. He is not afraid to tell it like it is. Lets compare something here, someone said one time that Jesse Ventura would never get enough votes to become Governor of Minnesota, how wrong that was, he almost ran away with the votes.

A Harvard-educated pundit who has covering national politics for over a decade, taken a strong stand against the war in Iraq and the Bush Administration, and also happens to be funny. I'd vote for him.

It is too early to tell. Minnesota has been a source of Democrats for a long time.

Probably very well. Minnesota has a long-standing tradition of electing nuts and imbeciles and wimps to public office.
