1)Use distributive property and then combine like terms:
12h+18+5h+6h+21=
23h+39

2)Same step as #1:
9x-1+3x+2
12x+1

I hope this helps!

Simplify:

1.) 6(2h + 3) + 5h + 3(2h + 7)

Distribute the 6 to 2h and 3 ( 6(2h) + 6(3)) as in the next step

6(2h) + 6(3) + 5h + 3(2h) + 3(7)

Multiply

12h + 18 + 5h + 6h + 21

Combine Like Terms (Remember ax = bx , ax does not equal bx^2)

(12h + 5h + 6h) + (18 + 21)

23h + 39

And since you cant combine those two terms (23h and 39) , that answer is in simplest form

Do the same thing for the next problem:

1/4(36x - 4) + 1/3(9x + 6)

1/4(36x) - 1/4(4) + 1/3(9x) + 1/3(6)

9x - 1 + 3x + 2

12x - 1 + 2

12x + 1

First thing we need to do in both of these is use the distributive property.

1. 6(2h + 3) + 5h + 3(2h + 7) = 12h + 18 + 5h + 6h + 42
now we need to combine like terms... we put all h's
together and everything else together as well.
= 29h + 58

2. 1/4(36x - 4) + 1/3(9x + 6) = 9x - 1 + 3x + 2 = 12x + 1

Remember the distributive property. a(b + c) = ab + ac
Remember to combine like terms. ax + bx + c = (a + b)x + c

Using those two, you can solve for both (I'll use brackets to more easily see things):

[6(2h + 3)] + 5h + [3(2h + 7)] =
[12h + 18] + 5h + [6h + 21] =
12h + 5h + 6h + 18 + 21 =
23h + 39

[1/4 (36x - 4)] + [1/3 (9x + 6)] =
[9x - 1] + [3x + 2] =
9x + 3x -1 + 2 =
12x + 1

Simplify..Help!!?
Simplify:

1. 6(2h + 3) + 5h + 3(2h + 7)

2. 1/4 (36x-4) + 1/3 (9x + 6)= 9x-1+3x+2= 12x+1.
