No, I'd live on campus for the experience. (I live about 45 minutes from the university I go to and I live on campus). You learn life lessons in the residence housing that you wont get at home, plus you have more of a chance to get to know other students, get help with classes, and have a better chance to participate with things around campus.

I commuted almost that far for three years of Law School.
It wasn't really too bad. I drank my coffee on the way in, and relaxed with music on the way home. Parking was a major problem, so I got in early enough to park where I wanted. It was a lot better than taking a noisy apartment away from my family.

No, because a 1 hour drive one way with no traffic, can easily double when driving during rush hour. For example, I live in Crowley, TX, I would not drive to the UTD in Richardson every day. Because, for maorning classes I would have to leave my house too early to make it there by 800, I would have to leave like at 600. And since I work 2pm-1100pm, this would be hard on me. I would live near campus, it would make it so much easier.

my husband commutes an hour each way to ASU every day. It sucks, but we decided not to move cause it would cost more to get a house closer to campus. Next semester he'll only have a 3 day schedule which will help.

no because your classes might at different times, so you would be stuck on campus all day or driving back and forth or find yourself with nothing to do. Also, that's a minimum of 2 hours on the road each day, not to mention if you have a job - and where it would be, close to home or close to school? Also, with gas prices as high as they are, you would spend a fortune in gas!

i would just because i love driving and listening to music, its my favorite thing..so relaxing..
my friend actually does this to save money and she doesnt mind it except on days she's really tired and is practically falling asleep driving home...
the only problem would be the parking situation on campus, at my school there is never anywhere to park cause pretty much everyone lives on campus
