They were all bashed by hypocrites who slam any white entertainer who speks their mind but ignores when any minority entertainer says anything. Why don't these people go after Chris Rock? Dave Chappelle? How about the language and glorification of violence by rappers? How about the numerous racial and anti-semetic comments made by Jesse Jackson? or Al Sharpton? Amazing everyone is following a man who said "I am sick of hearing abouth the Holocaust" to battle someone who made a tongue in cheek joke. I do not agree with what Imus said, I do not find it at all funny but he has the right to say it. Radio has always been a platform to allow people to speak their mind, radio has always been a place where people could speak freely and now it is being run into the ground. I do not agree with what Imus said but he has the right to speak his mind. It is only a matter of time before people use this to take more and more freedom of speech away. People are going to continue to go after freedom of speech. If Imus is a racist for making a joke then Sharpton, Jackson, Mencia, Rock, and Chappelle are all racists themselves. Why is there a double standard? Any of you who are against Imus are Un-American, you do not realize what this country was founded upon, you do not have to agree with it or like it but you should allow him to speak his mind.

What you say in your home, or to your friends and associates is your business. What you say on nationwide radio or television, is altogether different. I may not like the way you look, dress, or talk but if I don't know you or if I'm speaking in a public forum, I must remember that words can be as hurtful as a weapon and I must refrain from saying just anything so as not to offend others who don't think like I think. If I know you and think you're less than perfect, I can certainly tell you to your face. Of course it is your perogative to punch me in the nose if you don't like what I said. Imus, Schott and the Greek all spoke their minds but in the wrong forum. You can't say everything you're thinking. You have to know when to speak and when to keep your opinions to yourself. Consider your livelihood or your reputation if you overstep the boundaries.

prejudice??

Free speech ends the moment it attacks another person. In this regard, they are not protected under Free Speech when they slander a particular race or class of people.

And, besides that, I don't think anyone claimed these three broke the law in any way. Its more a matter of being a public figure who has fallen out of the favor of the public. They weren't punished in any legal sense, merely judged as they themselves judged others....

Well, like Matt Lauer said on National TV. White people do not have freedom of speech. He said this to a female black reporter, so, take it from there!!!!!
