The Internet makes for fast communication. It is not that hard to organize a group of concerned citizens. Organizers may be paid but the majority aren't. They have to take a day off from their regular jobs to protest. College student are real easy to mobilize. Its easy to cut classes. On the other hand people who collect signatures are more often paid then not.

I've protested when I had a job, and when I didn't.
I have never ever been paid to protest.
I protest whenever things matter enough to me to make a statement.
I also write letters to my mayor & my senators & my congressmen & whoever else I feel I need to communicate to...
It's called "being a citizen."

It is not very easy. Howard ZInn described civic duty as a "second job". You have to strive twice as hard for what you know is right. Stopping genocide was right in Nazi germany, It was right in Vietnam and it is right today.

more then likely jobs that pay lower wages to protest and walk picket lines could fall under same guide lines, yet taxes come first.

Man!!! isn't that crazy... I see them everywhere and it's a ton of them... I don't know how that works out!!!
I think they have jobs that are to organize and just be there to make signs and fight for the cause....
I don't know though....
