Let him go to satalite radio where he can be as rude and racist and derogatory as he wants.. put him in the same studio as Al Sharpton.. and turn the mic on.. that is something I would pay to hear. But lock him into a contract for a year.
If anybody can set that up, yeah..
But should he be rehired at CBS and NBC? .. nah.. they had to dump him to keep the advertisers. And it will be one or the other. They will keep the advertising money. Imus is probably gone for good.

I think he should be re-hired. I don't think what he said was really that egregious. The man had a reputation for being a "shock jock" so why is anyone really surprised he said what he said?

Secondly, the Rutgers team didn't actually hear the comments, they got it second hand, so how hurtful were his remarks.

He also publicly apologized and met with the team, move on. On a separate note, the women on the Rutgers team know they aren't "nappy headed hoes", so why sweat it. I can understand that being upset, but I think the poverty pimps Al and Jesse rushed to blow this out of proportion.

I also think Imus was fired just to appease Al and Jesse, look at the stats from his show (2 million listeners) that's a small number compared to other talk radio shows.

Now these b-ball players are going to go on Oprah and tell their story? This is just too ridiculous. It's also unfair that Rosie O'Donnell can say the first dumb thing that comes our of her mouth on a regular basis and she doesn't get fired. That's so far beyond a double standard.

Rap lyrics are far more hateful and disrespectful than anything Imus said, and nobody seems to care. Again, double standard.

I think so. He's a controversial figure, sure, but he's done a lot of good. He's raised millions for sick children throughout his career, and has helped countless families out. That should stand for something.

If anyone has listened to Imus's show, they know that he consistently pushes the envelope, and makes lude remarks about ALL people. He wasn't singling out blacks. He meant no harm by it, and it was a joke, not hate speech. This whole situation is just blown out of proportion by the media and the high up suits who have no idea what they're doing.

To fire Imus in the middle of his telethon to raise money for sick children (they raised over $1.6 million, an all time high), is a disgrace. An absolute disgrace.

I think he should NOT have lost his job in the first place. Yeah, okay, what he said was uncalled for and it was stupid. DDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.....
He knew better than to do something like that.
But come on, to lose his job over it????? The media is what made all of this crap happen anyway the way that it did after he said what he said.
But what I don't understand is why are african americans allowed to call each other those words, whether it's in their music, on the street corner, or in the privacy of their homes, and as soon as someone that is NOT african american says it, it's RACIST...where is the line drawn....
He should be rehired and allowed to have his life back..he's human, he made a mistake for crying out loud, we all make mistakes, he is no exception.

I tihnk he should be rehired, teamed with one of the black racists either Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson(look at the comments each ahs made in the past) and we can have an exchange of thoughts. I say rehire him and allow freedom of expression rule!

I think he should be rehired because no one has stripped Jackson and Sharpton of their titles. They wrongfully accused 3 white boys of raping a nappy-headed ho and they have yet to apologize for ruining their reputations for life. If they want equality they should treat people equally themselves and not live by double standards.

He should only be rehired if jesse jackson and his gang don't apologize for the way they treated the duke lacrosse players. Jesse Jackson and his gang resorted to condemning them a crime which they were not yet convicted of, thus completely ignoring the presumption of innocent until proven guilty.

All I know is that rappers get paid billions referring to women in a much worse way than he did, on the radio every single day. There is a double standard there. A big one!
