Aren't they so misunderstood? My cat, Boo, was all black and we had nothing but joy and fun. We needed no give him away for personal reasons, and then life was dim. Black cats are NOT bad luck, and f,,, all of you who think they are.

it is only superstition. I had an all black cat (named minx)and also an all white cat with two different colored eyes (named snowball) and snowball was pure evil. P.S. I had an all-black dog named boo.

I love all cats... large... small... any kind really. Actually I do feel bad for black cats though around Halloween. The shelters have a hard enough time finding homes for kittens/cats in general and the black ones can not be adopted out right before Halloween because the shelters are scared of what may happen to them (aparently there are still some sickos out there) so they are cute little kittens and are almost cats when they get the chance to get adopted and there are so many homeless ones out there. I would take them all in if I could. Im glad you love your kitty... they become part of the family dont they? Have a great weekend! :)

Black cats are awesome! I'm sorry about your cat Boo. I have a black cat, his name is "jungle" he was named that before we got him. He is the BEST cat there is!!! Black cats are like regular cats, but just ended up with a bad rep. Like a lot of people in this world.
People get superstitious and then they get Super dumb!

That was invented by the europeans (christians) because of their fear to the black skin. Put yourself in their minds of the time where the blacks have such a huge empire in Egypt and in other times where other dark races invaded the iberian peninsula (the muslims) and threatened Europe from the south, it almost took over all Spain.....etc

People tend to fear the unknown or what they ignore.

Its all about fear and racism. Nothing wrong with black cats.

That superstition started due to religious differences. I had several black cats and they do the same thing "normal" cats do. Poop on the floor when they are mad and clean themselve all day. They are no more a curse than any other cat.

Black cats are bad luck, my partner recently tripped over hers and fell down the stairs, not too bad until you find out she's waiting for operations on both knees and has to wear races at the mintue.

I had a black cat that got hit by a car and lost a leg and we called him Tripod. That was the best cat I ever had. We had to scratch one of his ears for him b/c it was his back leg. But he sure could climb a tree and jumped on a rottweiler's face one time. I sure miss him.

I will excuse your language, but I support you premise that black cats are nice. My cat sweetie-pie was a stray. She had her teeth kicked out and was beaten. I adopted her from the animal rescue and she is the sweetest animal I know. I am sorry you had to give yours away. Sometimes things happen that require us to do so.
