I'm thinking about scouting for places to live near the film industry. What areas + zip codes should I consider? I will probably want to rent my 1st year.

Burbank, Studio City. Just keep in mind that anywhere in "The Valley" as they call it, it'll be extemely hot in the summer - make sure your apartment has air conditioning.

Burbank. I lived on the hill for several years. Very nice area, far from any problems, and near to the Burbank Studios. Just over the hill to the other studios.

Live in Torrance. Near to the Hollywood area, very low rents, good network of freeways, etc.

Only thing you'd have to do is pack heat everytime you plan on coming home after dark.
