Bush has Unitered the best military minds. And he came up with drive in circles around Baghdad until a IED gets you.

Should that have been the plan of Attack in Vietnam

Yes. If we drove in circles enough times eventually we would have eroded the soil thus causing Vietnam to sink into the ocean.

No vietnam, no loss.

Actually, there were ground patrols in Vietnam, and the VC did improvise land mines (sometimes using explosives stolen from the Americans, like taking the C4 out of a Claymore-mine 'automatic ambush') to blow up those patrols. And, AFAIK, air strikes are still being used by the 'Coalition.'

And, of course, the US lost Vietnam, just as it's losing Iraq - politically, at home.

The idea is to make the "enemy" use up all their rockets on our military. Then we can declare victory. This is a new method of warfare that simply wasn't thought of in the 70's. Bush is a genius.

We failed to adapt to the enemy, so we lost. Now history is repeating itself.

No.

Airpower alone doesn't win a war.
