Yes...it takes several years to undo the propaganda college grads get from their predominantly leftist nitwit professors. It also coincides with the reality when they start having to pay taxes.

You know, everyone throws that quotation around, but weren't the definitions of liberal and conservative somewhat different back in the day when Winston Churchill was speaking???
Also, I heard that he didn't even say that:
"Conservative by the time you're 35"
"If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain." There is no record of anyone hearing Churchill say this. Paul Addison of Edinburgh University makes this comment: "Surely Churchill can't have used the words attributed to him. He'd been a Conservative at 15 and a Liberal at 35! And would he have talked so disrespectfully of Clemmie, who is generally thought to have been a lifelong Liberal?"

Only if you allow yourself to succumb to your personal insecurities dealt to you by your personal, social and economic responsibilities in life do you become a conservative.
However, a man is not measured by the actions he takes, but by the responsibilities he accepts. As such, there is no greater responsibility than to put one's own selfish needs aside for the benefit of all society.
To be an American conservative is to have the political conscience of the Sith, the spiritual acceptance of a guillotine, the environmental and economical responsibility of a Decepticon and social morality of J. Jonah Jameson.

I believe Churchill said, "If you're not a liberal at 20 you have no heart, but if you're not a conservative by 40, you have no head!" In other words, you see the failure of all these "feel good" schemes, and come to realize that if people don't care enough to help themselves, nobody else is going to be able to help them!

I started as a conservatard when I was old enough to vote, 1974.
I became a liberal when I saw how the conservatards were sending this country down the toilet. I'm 50.
This country cannot progress under conservatardism.

And if you aren't a cynic by age 40 then you didn't pay attention when you were in your 20's and 30's.

No validity to it whatsoever. If you believe either this statement's premise or that Churchill said it, well, you have no brain.
A simple web search reveals he never said this asinine quotation.

I'd say 20 and 30 instead, but yes, I tend to agree.
It's easy to look around the world and identify the problems and say we should raise taxes and fix them.
Hopefully by 30 you've learned what makes the world go around and can see the bigger picture, not about poverty, but about economics and motivation.

It is a myth that this was ever spoken by Churchill. There is no record or corroboration to support this misquote!
Do a little reading about people before you misspeak.

An excellent quote and it's so very true. I used to be just as mindless as the lieberals today but I grew up. I'm now 50 and I have seen the errors of my youth.

Fat lot of good his 'philosophy' did him.
After WWII, the British electorate kicked his 'conservative' butt out of office.
Become a Conservative and lose.
