They don't have the right shoes

Elephants can't jump even though they have the same number of bones in their feet as other mammals.
The bones in an elephant's foot are more closely packed together than other mammals so they do not have the flexibility or spring mechanisms that would enable them to jump.

If you watch on TV, elephants who are walking down a slope into a watering hole can't even bend their knees very well. Their joints just weren't made for that. Not surprising, since they are so heavy.

if they did Africa would be full of holes ,
their legs are not build for jumping they do not have any build in flexibility either in the joints ,bones of tendants
and gravity holds them back
