He signed a 90 million dollar endorsement deal with Nike before he even played in a single game. How is that not overrated? He is a good player, but he's not what people want him to be. He's no MJ, or Magic johnson. He can't really shoot free throws that well. Savior of the league? please.

I don't think he is that overrated. He's just not having a very good season. His numbers have definitely dropped from last years. Last year he averaged 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, to this years averages of almost 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Plus, his team isn't doing as good as last year and his free throw shooting went down 5%. I don't think he has lived up to the hype and expectations this year. There is no doubt that his athletic ability is almost unparallel, but when everybody is talking about how good his jumpshot is, that is definitely overrated. Also, his inability to come up big when the pressure is on. Yeah, he made two game winners in the playoffs last year, but see him miss a lot more than he makes big shots. So overall, it's not necessarily that he is overrated, it's that he is not having a very good season. If next year looks the same as this year, LeBron James is overrated.

There is no way you could say lebron James is overrated. He is the next mike j all day that is no lie i believe the reason you haters think he is overrated is because he is a mature b-ball player who is only flashy when necessary he's a great defender as well as having great offensive player who has a improving team by each season. give him time to bloom and watch him shine.

hes a great player in all but he is still overrated. The guy can barely shot 70% from the charity stripe and hes considered a star? he settles for too many jumpers and he gets a lot of the refs calls because the league is trying to make him into the next MJ which he clearly isn't. The league is doing that just to make a lot of money. he is definitley overrated.

Yes he is overated, he is not the best player in the nba yet, not even the top 5 in my books. Anyone heard of good stat in a bad team, well LeBron is having great stat in a decent team, samve with Kobe and Melo. Steve Nash and Dirk are having amazing stat in a great team, thats why they are the mvp canadiate. But the scary thing is, LeBron seem to have to the potential to achieve everything that are right now overated about him!!!

a little bit.
he is a tremendous athlete with a hi bball IQ and can pretty much do anything he wants on the offensive end (he must improve his FT's and be more of a consistant shooter) but on the defensive side...he doesnt have the lateral quickness of a jordan or a kobe (kb can be a good defender when he wants...sometimes he just doesnt want to be) to shut people down.
i think the reason people think that lbj mite be overrated is because of the hype thats been placed on him since his hs days...and people expect wins and championships almost immediately.
for him to win though, he needs a couple more pieces added to his team...and some sort of roadblock that he must eventually cross (like mj and the pistons).

HAVE YOU WATCHED HIM HE IS ONLY 22 how many records had MJ broke by that age plus how long did it take MJ to win a championship hmmm he was like 26 or 27 years old give him time he came to a awful team got them in to the playoffs and took Detroit to game 7 not only that he took his OWN money rebuilt playgrounds around Akron as well as project homes so the answer is NO hes not over rated when you have accomplished that much by his age with the pressure hes under and you setting records only Oscar Robinson has done.

Yes...He is NOT MJ...I am sick and tired of people even considering that he is in a league with Jordan...
Michael Jordan-6 NBA Championships, best player EVER to play the game, best commercials, from Nike's Mars Blackmon(Spike Lee) to the famous Gatorade "Like Mike, if I could be like Mike" song, a song LeBron should be singing...
LeBron James-0 Championships, funny commercials...could be a metaphor for his career so far...That's about all...
