The NeoCons (the former Reagan democrats) have shown exceptional patriotism, courage, and committment to the betterment of the United States. The entourage of conservative democrat Henry 'Scoop' Jackson showed commonsense and bolted to the Republican party after showing disgust with the left-wing liberal democratic views of the Carter Administration. This was the core of today's NeoCons.
The Libertarians are more economically focused and are commited to laissez faire capitalism as espoused by Ludwig von Mises and the Austrian school of economics.
