I am visiting Napa in September and would like to know the best place to eat in Napa town. I have heard of a restaurant called Zinsvally, has anyone been there? is it any good?
Can anyone also reccommend a good wine tour that will allow me to go to my choice of vinyard rather than a set itinary. Budget is tight so cant hire a private chauffer.
Any other tips on visiting the area greatly received.

I would second the vote for Bistro Don Giovanni. It is possible to drive yourself to the wineries without hiring a tour. Tours usually have a set itinary unless you rent a private limo.

Healdsburg (in Sonoma County but not too far away) is a unique place because there are over 10 wine tasting rooms of wineries all within walking distance of the downtown square area. If you make it to Healdsburg, be sure to eat at Zins...it is terrific.

For info on specific wineries go to http://www.cheers2wine.com. This site also has free wine tasting coupons.

Don't do the Wine Train! It's overpriced and all you see is the backs of buildings and litter. Not a pretty trip, although the food's OK.
Zinsvalley is OK. They're doing a lot of seafood and 2 for one nights right now and have live music. My sister in law sings there sometimes. But there are tons of other places that aren't "on the map" so to speak, in Napa. There's a new place which replaced Budo called the Lobster Shack. There are some great pizza and Mexican places downtown. And for good Italian on a budget, you have to hit Piccolinos. And as far as the wine tours, try calling Evan's. They do wine tours. Otherwise Black Tie Cabs are excellent for good service going anywhere. They have everything from a sedan to a hummer!

Email me if you need more info...I live in Napa. :)

Zinsvalley is OK for restuarant. Downtown napa I love a place called Uva's. They have live music most nice, wonderful italian food. Bistro don Giovanni is also great. wonderful in the fall when it is still kind of warm and you can sit outside.

If you want to venture futher north into St. Helena for dinner, Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen is fantastic. Owned by the same person as Mustards Grill.

As far as wine tours, try either Evans as somebody else suggested or Beau Wine Tours. They are the ones that I see around town the most.

Why not take the Napa Wine Train for the Dinner, or Lunch tour . You Get your Meal and a tour of the Winery's its really nice . Go on line and check into it most people that i know that have taken it really enjoyed it . Its been years since I've taken it but its really nice and you can sit back and watch the scenery as you enjoy a nice meal and good wine .

Wine u . s . excursions is large. I see all of them around the Napa Valley. i do no longer understand in the event that they conceal Muir woods nonetheless. you would be able to ought to discover a seperate excursion for that because it is not interior the wine u . s ., yet in simple terms south of the Golden gate in Marin county. Muir woods is a ought to verify nonetheless.
