Is 8 years too much for an Elders Quorum Pres. Can we vote him out or something?

Just a couple of months - not feeling "stuck" at all.

Eight years does seem on the long side, but that can happen, especially in small branches with few priesthood holders.

How ever long you are called, is the amount of time the Lord is requiring your service. It can be 1 month in some instances or it can be 10 years. The Lord is in charge and knows what is best for the person in the calling, and the members he/she serves.
Many times, I think the calling is more for the person serving, than for the people he or she serves. They are the ones that can learn and grow and increase in wisdom by the calling they hold.

Perhaps in the instance you state above, the president is needing more time to learn what it is he needs to learn.
