Sorry for the caps but I need help.

I have an 03' Jeep Grand Cherokee, 43000 miles.

Here's what happened. I went to work in the morning, no incident. I have a half a tank of gas, and everything worked fine.

This afternoon, I try the keyless entry, no response. I hit all the buttons on my remote, nothing happens.

I unlock the door with the key and try to start the engine. I turn the key and nothing happens. No clicking, no lights on, no radio, nothing works.

I'm pretty sure it's not the battery. Lights are on auto, and were not even on this morning. Plus it couldn't have drained in 4 hours. I checked the fuses, but they appeared fine. I assume it must be some kind of electrical problem because if the electrical system was working properly the radio would at least go on.

So if you know what could be the problem, help me.

I checked the battery terminals, and they are clean. Like the day it rolled out of the factory.

Again I'm pretty sure it is not the battery. It would not be able to go completely dead in four hours, even if I had all of the interior lights, headlights and the radio on. I only have 43 thousand miles on the car so the battery is pretty new.

Bizarre, this is the exact same thing that happened to my car this morning! And we know it isn't the battery. We're checking all of the connections, and my husband is fixing some cable that goes into the starter, the dealership said maybe that would help. Good luck. Look up my most recent question if you want, it is the exact same problem, and I got lots of responses. (Of course, most everyone said the battery was dead, and it isn't. But it's SOMETHING!)

Since nothing at all works, I still suggest it's either the battery or the main cable - from battery to ground or from battery to alternator. I would start with connecting anything (voltmeter, bulb, testlight, whatever) to the battery terminals directly, and if that anything is dead, further diagnostic efforts are eliminated.
If the battery is alive - check terminals, wires, connections moving away from the battery.

Ether you have a completely dead battery or a loose or corroded battery terminal. Get a boost and see if any of the lights or radio works.

ok, first check if it turns over (makes a sound like it wants to but then wont), if no sound, check the battery cables, use a wire brush to clean any sediment off, make sure the connection is solid. if you have a stick shift car, then you can push start it, simply drop the clutch once it gets rolling med speed, you will need a friend to help since you will be in the seat, he will push, check the gas, as well, oh....there is a fuel cut off switch on newer cars, chek your manual, it is usually located in the trunk, on the far left or far right. make sure the switch didn't get bumped accidentally....worst case scenario...walk, excercise is really good for our health

First of all clean the battery connections, load test the battery, & then check the fuses located by the Master Cyl.

never assume anything! have the battery tested. you would be suprised how quick a good battery can be drained. once you have positively verified that the battery is fully charged (12 volts) then try it. I bet it fires right up

Probably the battery. Try to jump it or put another in.
