Well, of course they would have heard about it, and if they chose to do something to Don Imus about it, they would have. It's none of the Idiot Sharpton's or The Right Moron Jackson's business. They are just using it to get their names out in the media again. The fools who think we need those two and the NAACP to try to force someone to resign their job or get them fired are the SAME people who think government regulations on morality and how we live our lives are a good idea. Let the girls to whom the comment was directed deal with it and then forget it. Don Imus has been saying things like that for years for the shock value, but this time someone saw an opportunity to make themselves look righteous and right at the expense of another person. Imus made a personal observation, and last time I checked we had a constitutional right to freedom of speech. At least we do for now. It's being taken away slowly, like so many other freedoms. Why don't you who are offended by Imus get down off your moral high-horses and take a hard look at the direction we're going as a society. If you're smart enough to think about it for a minute, you'll see the slippery slope we're on.
If you're not that smart, then you're useless anyway.

Never paid that much attention to Don Imus, Jessy Jackson or Al Sharpton. I heard about the stupid mess from the media! Over and over and over again.
As a Africian-American female I am disgusted not by the nappy head portion or Don Imus's comment but the fact that he called those young women whores.
I do not understand why women of all races are not offended
when they hear any woman decribe is such a fashion.
I see and it is very, very sad we as women black, white or whatever your race have lost track of what's really important.
We need to stand up as women and say we've had enough of the blatant disrespect by men!

It doesn't matter whether the girls heard the remark or not. They were slandered on a broadcast that reached millions. If he said that female basketball players are Nappy-headed Hos it wouldn't have been too bad. But he named a specific team. The girl's names and pictures are known. That's personal slander. Imus should be taken to court and made to pay.
You're saying it's all right to slander someone so long as they don't hear it personally. I can't agree.

No I don't. I think Sharpton and Jackson threw gasoline on this fire. I think we should blame our culture for using language that is degrading. In other words we are all responsible for allowing this kind of talk. It is very unfair that Don Imus is being hung when the majority are talking the same way. I didn't know what napppy headed hos meant but i do know Bernie lead the conversation and Imus followed. No one has talked about the fact that bernie said ho first.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton jumped on this like predatory animals at a kill.
Neither one of them have a moral license to attack anyone until they accept their responsibility for their indiscretions and apologize.
I don't believe any of these young woman ever knew of Mr. Imus before Jackson and Sharpton brought it to their attention.
They put these young ladies on the Cross and capitalized on it.
It will be interesting to see if they are really going to go forward in their own race and put a stop to the entertainment industry in the degrading of their woman and stop teaching their children the "N" word.

I blame the news outlets that choose to run his statements as a "big story" if that would not have happened then everything would probably be fine, because I am sure that more people first heard about this from the news rather Al or Jesse

My favorite part of all this is the REVEREND Jackson and REVEREND Sharpton will not accept Imus's apology and will not forgive no matter what he says or how much he apologizes
No reverend and no Christan, either of them

Do you think that Jackson and Sharpton were the only people that took issue with these statements? Do you think that they are the only people that can comment on these statements? Do you they called up the team and told them what was said about them? Do you think that since they (team) weren't listening to his show that they shouldn't care what was said about them?

Are you serious... Those ladies would have heard it from everyone... Don't think that just because you all saw Al and Jesse on t.v. first they didn't hear it from there local news or there local radio station... get real... Basketball is a huge sport and fans tune in to stations to hear commentary....
Someone somewhere was all over this story....first and Jesse and Al jumped in... And I think the girls had no idea who he was...
