Imi?
Mo?
Emmy?

Any other ideas?

We've got a girl on the way that we want to name Imogen, and we were just curious what some good short-version nicknames were for that.

Pronounciation: i - moe - jen.

(It's actually a common name in the UK and Australia, just not so common here in the states).

"Imogen"

O...K...

Fair enough. I'll answer the question instead of arguing over a name I have absolutely NEVER HEARD before.

1st of all, a girl definitely would not want to be "Mo". "Imi" seems kind of odd too. "Emmy" definitely would work... but she would probably get fed up with being Emmy as she gets older. Maybe "Jenny"? OK, I spelled it differently, but if it's "Imogen", there is "Gen" on the end, which by my calculation would be Genny or Jenny... which seems like a reasonable name that won't drive her crazy as she gets older.

I am a big believer if you really like a name that you shouldn't shorten it to anything else. If you like Imogen then that is what you should call her until she is old enough to say you know what lets shorten my name. My son is Joshua people try to call him Josh and he tells them my mom named me Joshua not Josh. But if you insist on a nickname I would go with Emmy. I mean I call my daughter Pooh and her name is Lincy, but I only call her Pooh around the house. I love the name by the way, very interesting.

my brother went to school with a girl named Imogene, but she pronounced it IM-O-GENE, so my suggestion would have been Gene.
But pronounced your way, Jen, Jenni, Immo. It's a very classy sounding name.

I was thinking Mo, but that's not too feminine for a girl, so what about Gen?
