A mnemonic can be a little phrase or particular word to help you remember something important. For example My Dear Aunt Sally in math stands for Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction and it is something you learn early in math to help you solve a problem when you have more than one step. For example if you have a problem that contains both multplication and addition or subtraction and addition, My Dear Aunt Sally lets you know that the first step in solving the problem is to solve the part of the problem with multiplication first, followed by division, addition and subtraction. Another mnemonic can be Never Let a Monkey Eat Bananas which is used in science and stands for Neutrophils, Leukocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils and Basophils and is the order in which blood cells are in your body in the order from greatest to least.
