Hi,

Can someone help me figuring this out? What is the different between performance strut bars / lower arms vs sways bars? Which tend to perform better? Can both be install?

I want comfort and better handling. I don't need to make a turn at high speed.

Thank you much!!!

Thank you all for answering my question!!!

So, to add comfort and handling, I should go with a sway bar kits? And may be upper strut bars to avoid body rolling?

Thanks again!!

Strut bars or strut braces are simply there to stiffen the chassis and make the car a little more responsive. During quick changes in direction the body of the car will actually flex a little and decrease the responsivness.. Strut braces attempt to minimize this.

Sway bars actually help to keep a car level through a turn by limiting the body roll one way or the other. When you turn the tendancy of the cars body is to lean to the outside. A sway bar prevents this to some extent, keeping the car flat and level... the reason that this is good is that it keeps all 4 tires flat and level on the road and it helps keep the suspension at the optimal geometry througout the corner.

Strut bars connect the strut tower to the wheel, lower arms are the "Y" shaped bar on the underside of the axleshaft, and the sway bar is the curly "U" shaped bar running between your control arms and mounted to the underside of the frame. All three are parts of every car and truck on the road and can be upgraded to increase handling and ride comfort.

Struts also referred to as MacPherson Struts. Are a combination shock & coil spring assembly. No ball joint required.

Lower control Arms bolt to the bottom the of axle assembly by means of a ball joint. The strut to hold it rigid.

A Sway Bar is thick heavy formed round bar, rubber mounted to each lower control arm & rubber mounted to the frame.

strut bar braces connect on the top of the strut housings under your hood (or trunk) to create a more ridged chassis and prevent body roll mainly. sway bars link up to your lower suspension components. and during turning they transfer lateral grip from one end to another during cornering. both are fairly easy to install and can be don in a few hours. they both have pros's and con's but it's mainly the application and how you drive determines what you need,

Sway bars is not the correct term and can be miss-leading. They are called stabilizer's. It is a long spring between both front wheels or both rear wheels. As one wheel goes over a bump or a hole, the other is matched(not fully) to keep both wheels in better contact to the ground. They are not meant to control body roll.
