amniotic fluid doesn't always have a distinct smell. If you feel like you are leaking constantly, you should call the hospital. they may want you to go in so they can test the fluid to make sure you aren't losing your fluid! good luck!!!!!

Are you having vaginal discharge or is this fluid? If it is thick and whitish or even yellowish, that is probably your cervix continuing to thin out (i.e. mucous plug takes sometimes days and even weeks to completely expell itself from your body). If it is fluid, what color? Don't sit around and wait for an odor, because there will not always be one. I thought I was leaking fluid when I was 40 weeks pregnant because it was colorless and odorless. Turns out it was urine because the baby was putting so much pressure on my bladder. Because I drank SO much water during my pregnancy it was completely diluted to the point that it had no smell whatsoever. If you are unsure, call your doctor. Usually if you are leaking amniotic fluid it will happen all day long all the time no matter what position you are in, etc. If you only notice it once in a while throughout the day, it is most likely urine.

Is the discharge the normal egg-white, mucus-y type discharge? From what i've heard leaking of the water is more .... well watery and less thick.

Also you would leak consistantly for quite some time....if you're concerned drop by the hospital or docs-- they have a simple test that can tell you if its the water or not.

My opinion- if you had an appointment this week and the Dr. said you are fine the you probably are. It is probably urine and it starts to leak so bad at the end. If you really feel worried you can call your Dr. But when the babies moving you are ok. i worried about that too, and when they induced me and broke i felt all that water and knew she had pleanty of water. Good luck it is so exciting!!!

It will smell different from your usual discharge. It will also be a different color and consitency. Amniotic fluid smells sweet and is like pale yellow water.

I always feel more wet as d-day approaches. I guess maybe it's hormones or something.

I would worry, I would call the doctor to get them to test you and make sure that your water didn't partially break. That happened to me, and the doctor heard from me more than the mailman, so I would go get checked out. If your water broke and you have to deliver a dry baby, the delivery will be excruciating!

if you are leaking fluid it could be harmful for the baby so check with your doctor and also if you are leaking fluid you should have seen your mucus plug which come out which is slightly pinkish and mucusy
