Because I am currently a fair skinned guy who hates it, so I've been going tanning lately, and doing my best to avoid horrendous wrinkles.

i am very fair skinned and i tan.. i've gotten a really nice bronze tan from just the basic tanning beds and only go 6 minutes usually monday through friday.. always mosterize daily to hydrate your skin.. be careful to keep the time down so you dont burn..

edit:
also, if you want to get a nice base tan, go tan in the bed for your regular time then get the spray on tan afterwards.. it looks really good and it helps make you look tan till you build that base tan.

also you can always upgrade your bed so instead of the shallow tan you get in the basic beds you'll establish a deep dark tan with the advanced beds.. but again i have to stress that once you get that tan your looking for, dont go as often, only enough to keep the tan because you dont want the skin damage.. and lotion is a must.

i go because i am pasty without the help of a tanning bed and also because my skin is very sensitive to razors and lotions and with the use of a tanning bed i can shave everyday without the razor burn and my skin is still soft but noticeably tougher ...

I'm very fair-skinned and I stay away from tanning beds because I have heard too many horror stories. I go outside and tan naturally, only staying outside for about a half hour when I can. Personally I don't think anyone really fair-skinned should get really bronzed tan, just because I don't think it will look natural. Just get a little sun to your skin and make sure to use sunscreen on the parts of your body that tan faster so that it will be even. Also if you are worried about dry skin and wrinkles just get a strong lotion and use it every time after you get done tanning, that should help.

If you want a real good real tan, and have fair skin, you are going to have to spend at least 4 hours a day several times a week. Make sure you put on sunblock. I never really saw a difference in SPF levels. You should be warned, it will cause cancer and it ages the skin badly. Fair skin isn't a bad thing to look at either.

Have you tried tanning lotion? The fake stuff? You cant use it alot cuz you do get orange no matter what brand you buy. Don't go to the tanspa more than once a week and cover your face at least 1/2 the time you are in there. Older people who tan look TERRIBLE cuz they squint their eyes and the wrinkles inside dont get tan and you can see it way worse than if you didnt tan.

It's obvious you are young and I was also young once. When you're young you totally believe you know it all and refuse to listen to others - now (being a grand mother) I wish I would have listened. I have tons of pre-cancer spots on my body (due to be fair skinned and trying to tan). I have to really watch it and keep them soft (with tons of lotions) - otherwise, they will get dry/crusty and then I have to have them burned off with dry ice. Right now, I wish I would have listened to my parents when I was young - I'm sure paying for it now.

Hello,
Tanning is damaging. Even if you don't burn you're doing just as much damage. Geez, men are becoming so much less manly these days.. tanning beds? It's bad for your skin, you will get premature wrinkles, stop deluding yourself and start acting like a man, sheesh.

haha..

sunless tanner. or go to a salon and have them airbrush tan you they can even airbrush muscles on you too. Real tanning causes wrinkles cause you are cooking your skin.
