I ask that because they were playing Tennessee when he made that statement and all he had to say about Tennessee was wonderful things. Do you think it was because they were white?

No. Imus isn't the raciest! He's gross. As far as being a racist, yes. I believe he is. I also believe he's a misogynist.

Well he did make a racist statement, and he has made statements in the past about other races. Can a person make racist comments and not be racist? Some comments come out of anger others come out of ignorance. I think a person can make a racist comment and not necessarily be racist. I may make a comment about people of another race out of ignorance, and someone could correct me. I have an option , do I continue in my way of thinking or do I stop from that day forward. It's all a choice. I think what Imus did was not only racist and sexist, but it was totally unnecessary. He did say some things about the Tennessee players being nice looking. But, the Tennessee team players must have been even rougher and harder for them to beat the other team. Since the Rutgers team was so hard-core. He talked about their looks when he should have talked about the skill of all these young ladies. It's sad because all these young ladies worked hard to get there teams to the Championship and it was over looked because of some comments he and his producers made on his show.

What about Tom Joyner, one black radio host apparently overlooked or not aware of by Sharpton and Jackson. When 13 year old bethany hamilton (white) lost her arm to a shark he played "mack the knife". so far im not seeing any suspensions or fines.
In these days it's about the messenger not the message. Sharpton was also leading the cry against the duke kids and he's been allowed to get away with it just like with Tawana Brawley. Seriously, if we don't all get backbones and learn to CHANGE THE CHANNEL in ten years ALL media is going to be paid for. when someone says something or does something racist on the air they have to pay for WHAT they do REGARDLESS of who they are.

Actually he refered to the Tennessee team as wannabes. The whole statement was over the top in my opinion. But still, he should have just got a fine.

The Tennessee team is overwhelmingly black as well. He is obviously a racist, as are Sharpton and Jackson BTW. Imus is a hater. He is as equally offensive about gays, elderly, Republicans, Democrats, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Latinos.
That is what he made his career on.
Hes a racist, but an equal opportunity racist.

Yes, Imus is a racist. All racist say I not predjudice. He has said so many racist remarks against people and sexist things against women, people were just tired of it!

Imus is still living in the 1960's he never grew with the times. He's uneducated and out of touch with modern society.

His job is to shock and offend. That is how he earns his BIG bucks. So, he may or may not be a racist personally, I don't know his heart. But he is something WORSE than a racist. He is someone who profits from stirring up the pot of controversy and hurt.

It's all about them Benjamins.....

Blacks sure want to negate recism on their part but bring it to the top when whites are involved. The only thing that states should appolgize for is bringing the losers over here to start with.
