I just heard this on CNN...I mean really, what is this "Verbal crime?" Last I heard we had freedom of speech. Has that been taken away by Bush too? Is that included in the anti-"Patriot" Act? Do we live in a communist country?

If it had been a verbal crime, he would have been jailed.

There's no such thing.

He was offensive when he used his right of free speech, so he suffered the results, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I would guess that slander is a verbal crime. Yelling fire when one doesn't exist to cause a panic is verbal and also a crime. What was the story being discussed? You could verbally assault someone by screaming and cursing at them inappropriately, and also be arrested. I guess some of our rights end when it infringes on someone elses right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

I have not heard it as yet, but judging from your statement one would assume it is basically if you are politicallly incorrect you are commiting a crime...there is no such thing as freedom of speech!!!.....we are still penalised regardless of the constitution, they just find alternative methods
