For starters, we have three dogs:

Cody, Boomer, and Nana
Cody is a Rot that couldn't hurt a fly if it bit him and is the most well behaved dog you could find.(no formal training) He knows when you are in a playful mood and when you just need someone to hang around with. He lets the kids jump all over him and tolerates cats, but he also senses when there is danger and will protect when necesary.
Boomer and Nana are Border Collies and are brother and sister. They are very hyper, but loveable and more for wearing the kids down...

Cats:
We have two cats: Princess and Beauty. They are sisters. Princess acts just as her name suggests. She is regal and well postured, but is always found sleeping with our one year old at night.
Beauty is soft and cuddly and loves any attention you give her and makes it known when she feels neglected...lol

Hamsters: We have three Teddy Bears, a Black Bear, and a Golden. All are very sweet and affectionate and do not scare easily so they are awesome for the kids.

Rabbits: We have a New Zealand White who is big and muscular and likes to charge at those who are not giving him adequate attention. We had a total of 6 rabbits, but last year's heat was too much for them to handle.

As you can see, we love animals in our home and love them all the same amount, but for different things. We try to show our kids that they are a part of the family and should be treated as they are.

Oh, My! I almost forgot our ginea pigs...we have two gunea pigs named Bunny and Oreo. Bunny has been in our home for over five years and is very demanding. She squeals if you walk past without acknowledging her, but cuddles with you when you need someone to hold. Oreo is nuts. All he does is run around in circles except when he is hungry. When he is hungry, he goes and carries his dish around the cage and stops occasionally for a mouthful. He is great to watch!

Thanks for the opportunity to share!

I have a siamese tom cat who is 16 and he now lives with my parents called hewie and I also have a 1 year old syrian hamster called harry. I totally adore both of them and the reason for this is because they bring me so much pleasure and have the sweetest, mellow personality.

I never thought a hamster could own such a strong personality, but harry is the funniest thing in the world, its lovely to get home from work and have someone waiting for you that needs you and depends on you to look after them. I guess he is my baby substitute. Animals, unlike humans, are unselfish in the love they have to offer us.

I have my two boys, Theodore and Stinky! They are my "kids" and I could NOT live without them!
Theodore is a dsh tuxedo cat, he is a huge cat, weighs 15 lbs and no fat on his body, just a tall, large cat. He has always been big, even as a kitten I had to help his mother deliver him so he has been my boy since the moment he was born.
Stinky is my chihuahua son, he just keeps me entertained. Thinks he is a big bag guard dog trapped in a 4 1/2 lb body, its so cute to watch him when someone knocks on the door. Of course once I actually open the door he goes and hides behind Theodore!!

I have 3 dogs The oldest is Chunky an American Staffordshire Terrier. He was a rescue, Someone kicked him as a pup and broke his pelvis and they just left him to heal on his own, and quit feeding him. He was rescued at 1 yr old and it took six months to get hair back on him. He walks funny and is on tramadol. He is super sweet. The second dog Emma Mae is a Treeing Walker Coon Hound with severe allergies to grass and pollen. they turned her loose as a puppy. and was found by a farmer who contacted the hunting dog rescue in this area. She's an inside dog and they were going to euthanize her,.I stepped in and I give her prednisone and other drugs so she can go outside. The third is from Gulf Port Mississippi, a Katrina puppy they had so many pups to place they were euthanizing hundreds Her name is Woody Anne. She was in with some males at 2 months old and was mis-named. She is a blue heeler , coondog ,terrier mix And she has no fear of anything , I have to watch her so she stays out of harms way. They are very unique and I wouldn"t trade them for the world. I am lucky to have them.

We have an Amazon parrot named Nikki, a conure named Connor, and I have a hamster couple who just had babies. I also have a guinea pig named Stuart.
I didn't love the birds at first, my husband really wanted them. Nikki talks and she can be fun. Connor bites and chews everything and is very demanding.
I love the hamsters though, they are very sweet.

I have a mini Chihuahua named Chico. He is full grown and weighs about 3.4 lbs, lol! He thinks he is as big as a Great Dane or something! I love him so much and he is a great watch dog. If he hears something or someone outside, he will start barking like crazy, but when I tell him"enough!" he will stop, so he isn't one of those annoying chihuahuas. I also have a fish tank for the kids that is full of little guppies. They love them! Pets are so much fun!!!

I have 3 cat companions, Celie (pronounced Kaylee), Meg, and Bridget, and I also have 3 parakeets, Chloe, Sorcha and Tamlin.
The cats are like my children, they give me unconditional love and they also comfort me when I am down, or sick. The parakeets liven up my home with their cheerful chirps and singing, and they are a hoot to watch.
