Bulletin Boards: It's amazing the things that you can teach or reinforce through the use of bulletin boards. I've used them for every subject area, although I must admit that as a learning tool, I prefer to use them in math and language arts. I used to do one that was a reading display that we kept up and built on all year long. As students read books they would write reviews and add them to the display. The students soon learned that it was a great place to go to pick a new book. They also learned the power of being a critic.

Basically, you can deal with just about anything using a bulletin board... the only limit is your imagination (or the imagination of others! LOL) There are some great books out that will help you get started. Also, take pictures of other bulletin boards (with the teacher's permission) to start a portfolio of ideas.

I've listed one of the best sites I've found for finding ideas on the web. Ms. Schrock has already searched the web and compiled a list of usable sites. You can also just google "classroom bulletin boards".

Good luck and have fun!
