Honestly, it can depend from person to person. It's worth knowing that between 70-80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised, and the vast majority (~95%) never suffer from any problems involving the foreskin.

Circumcision is painful, especially for infants (see link 1). Anesthetics can help, but they're not always useful as each infant can respond differently. Also, infant circumcision has risks and complications that are pretty much unique to it and not adult circumcisions (see link 2). Some of these are fairly minor, like infection (ironically, a reason many chose circumcision to prevent), to very serious complications - but these are rare.

Also, circumcision removes a lot of nerve endings in the foreskin, thereby decreasing sensitivity (see link 3). In addition, circumcision might decrease sexual stimulation and pleasure for not only the man, but the woman as well (see links 4 and 5).

Many people have this misconception that being uncircumcised is less clean or harder to clean/keep clean. This is false, as the uncircumcised penis is very easy to clean and maintain (see link 6) if one knows what to do. The problem is that in the US, several generations have gone by where most of the men are circumcised, so many no longer know what to do with a foreskin. Good hygiene of the foreskin can prevent most problems that would involve the foreskin.

There are recent studies showing that circumcision might decrease the rate of contracting HIV. What's less publicized is that proper and prompt genital hygiene can essentially negate this benefit of circumcision (see link 7); so the difference between uncircumcised and circumcised men in regards to HIV contraction rates are insigificant with good hygiene. Furthermore, no one really knows the cause-effect relationship between circumcision and HIV, and the entire issue is still under heated debate (see links 8 and 9). One should hesitate before circumcising for this reason. Also, what is clear is that good hygiene + safe sex (i.e. condom use) >>> circumcision.

In summary, which is better? If one's foreskin is working properly, he has good hygiene, and he practices safe sex, then being uncircumcised is almost always better. Now, if there's a problem with the foreskin (which happens, but is rare), or he's a slob, or he's having frequent sex without condoms, then circumcision might help but even that might not help enough. See the last two links for further discussion on your issue, but my opinion regarding this is, if nothing's wrong then there's no reason to change that.

Circumcision on newborns is extremely painful, because unlike adults they can't be put to sleep. See:

http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/1f21e.htm

To answer the AIDS/HIV claims, that was for Africa. As far as developed nations go (where people can shower) mostly circumcised USA has higher HIV rates than mostly uncircumcised Europe and Asia.

As far as cleaning goes, I'm uncircumcised and cleaning is not an issue. You just slide it back when you shower and rub the head. It takes like five seconds and feels good. Some circumcised guys think that stuff continuously grows there; it doesn't. It's clean as long as you wash it every day or so.

New studies (one from this month) have found that circumcision reduces sensitivity (the good feeling), reduces sexual pleasure, and increases masturbation difficulty (which makes sense, in the USA circumcision was made popular by Dr. Kellogg (yes, the cereal guy) to prevent masturbation).

http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x

In addition, circumcision rates are going down very quickly, some states in the USA are as low as 14%.

So overall, unless you're having problems with it, having a foreskin (not circumcised) should be good. It also allows you to choose what you want later in life. So those who get cut as adults do it because they want it personally or had problems before.

All sources are here, including plenty of circumcision risks:

Keep in mind that when erect, both circumcised and uncircumcised penises look alike since the foreskin slides back, the only difference is that in uncircumcised guys the foreskin slides up and down to rub/stimulate the head during sex and masturbation (it's moist/lubricated inside like your eyelids; same tissue, actually).

It is better for boys to be left intact, as God/nature intended.

Circumcision is extremely painful for babies. They may not remember the pain, but they certainly feel it. Some parents think their baby felt no pain because he didn't cry, but that happens when the baby goes into shock. A few babies die from the shock of circumcision each year, and many more get infections -- would you want ANY open wound to be in contact with a dirty diaper?

It is easy to keep an intact penis clean. The hygiene arguments for circumcision are just myths.

Boys grow into men and get married. Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for the man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A new study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x

Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.

Nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html That's really pretty definitive.

Give your son the right to an intact body. There is lots of good information for parents at http://www.cirp.org

IN the long run proabbly circumcised. HOw ever it might be faireer to let the boy decide. The trouble is that it is souch a touchy subject that it is hard to realy let a boy understand the diference and make a fair and wise choice. IF they are not circumcised someone needs to really teach them well how to clean the insides of the hood that covers the glans and teach then how without introduing child hood masturbation activiy to take out he covered parts when bathing and thouroughly clen them and form time to time let them be exposed to air and daylight to help prevent them from becomeing al messed up and not working right
Circumcised is better becasue there is less toruble keeping it clean. IF one cleans it right then it may not be a problem but still bacterial infections adn fungi can develpe there not unlike what females often experience read our answer on how to fix that problem by wetting it repeatedly and oletting it dry to get rid of moisture and prevent mold and fungi form growitng there well.

Whetehr an uncircumsized perosn gets more satisfaction or has more area of their penis to feel pleasure form you woud have to ask someone who was circumsized later in life than any of us who help answer questions here and who were circumsized at the Answwwerman were.

For two or more guys some who are circumsized and others who are not to figure out which one gets the best pleasure becaeu of the amount of foreskin is completely subjective and there is not reasonable way to try to figure it out.

I agree with Maple, your first answer,.....but...to avoid getting clipped, just peel it back when you go to the Bathroom to urinate,so no urine will collect under your Foreskin. You don't want bacteria to collect there. Once you're of age to have sex and it's painful around the Foreskin area during penetration, see your Dr. about it. You should'nt have any problems though, the Froeskin is very helpful in sexual play when stimulated. So keep the extra skin, dude!!!!
