No, but my life isn't over yet, so how would they know?

No, I wouldn't be offended. I would take that as a sign to get going and live my life. My therapist told me I wasn't being an active participant in my life. I just stand by and let life pass me by. After hearing that I tried to be more spontaneous and step outside of my comfort zone. Try new things, there's a lot to do in this world if you really think about it. Don't build walls around yourself, it takes too long to break out.

Sheltered life in their opinion is not the same as everyone Else's. if you choose to live the way you are and are happy with it then whats the problem? some people are introverts and choose not to go everywhere. some people are happy living a simple life. so i say if this person said it to you, yes it was rude but its probably their way of trying to understand why you live differently than they do.

Yes, because to say that implies that you are more cultured than the person you are talking to.
Even if you don't mean to be condescending, there is no way to say that without sounding stuck up.

Probably not, it is their opinion. I would think about if it was true or not. Life is to short to have a sheltered life. Go out and explore and open yourself up to all possibilities.

I'd be shocked. I don't think anyone would think I've lead a sheltered life. It has been a hard one that made me strong. I wish I had a sheltered or somewhat sheltered life.

My husband told me that...but I ddn't get hurt over it, I just told me thats how I got here today, with structured living, which allowed me to have great work habits and responsiblility. When people tell you things like that it is because they are jealous their parents didn't give that to them.

Yes. It's usually in response to having not done something they have done or having prior knowledge about whatever they are talking about.
