Because radio and television are businesses. The brand of humor in which groups of people are attacked and insulted quite obviously was losing MSNBC and CBS some veiwers and listeners as well as advertisers. That, in the business world is reason enough.
If you need more you have only to consider the utter lack of consideration or class he displayed when he aimed these comments at the young women of Rutgers Univ. basketball program. It was more than racist and sexist. We have got to stop accepting this attacking mentality in the guise of humor.
This was not a one time event in Imus's history. This was a pattern of behaviour. After the first several appollogies and pledges to do better it isn't surprising that the networks patience was gone. It's sad that it took so long.

i think of you could tell what Imus stated isn't that undesirable. Blacks say way worse approximately Whites and Koreans every day, yet no person supplies a rattling. The worst element approximately all of it develop into calling them "hos", yet there is truly no longer something to the observe the two. between the DJ in l. a. called jesse and sharpton media whores. that's precisely what they are - they circulate around finding for the slightest observe from a white guy or woman, then whore up as lots media time as conceivable. the authentic nappy head hos are sharpton and his lapdog jesse.
