I am a nurse so I hope this helps you out....If she has a fever that high and is not allergic to Tylenol or motrin she can take either or. I recommend Motirn actually. If the fever remains high then you can alternate every two hours with the Mortin and Tylenol. Say you gave her her Motrin at noon, you can give her Tylenol at 2pm and another dose of Motrin at 4pm and Tylenol again at 6pm.

Often times vaccinations, which are live viruses in many cases, can give them a fever and cold or flu like symptoms that is why she cries when you pick her up and is sleeping.
Also, there can be some pain or tenderness where the injectios were administered. Keep an eye on them for any signs of infection. Reddness, swelling and some pain is expected, but if you notice any major changes or the reddness is swelling and she can not toleedrate any touch to that area call take her to the doctor.

If you are unsure about anythin you can always call and talk to the nurse or doctor. They should even have an on-call doctor after hours.

Keep her comfortable and let her swing the day away in her sleep if she wants. If she gets really hungry she will wake up enough to eat. I know it is hard when your child is crying and you feel helpless but you are doing great!

If she gets worse or the fever will not drop after the Tylenol and Motrin you may want to call or even bring her in to see the doctor. She can get dehydrated very easily with a fever that high. Hope this helps and she feels better soon!

Running a slight fever, crying, and being tired are all normal after the shots. When I went through this with my daughter I just gave her some baby tylenol, and let her sleep. As long as her fever does not get over 101 she should be fine.
Good luck.

Let her sleep. Give her Tylenol for the pain. Keep checking the injection sites for redness, hot to the touch. The doctor should have kept you at the hospital for 15 minutes after the shots were administered. If they didn't. check her arms and legs and tummy for any bumps or rashes. They would appear shortly after the shots not hours or days later. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Just let her sleep. If she has a fever, give her a little tylenol. My son always sleeps the whole day after his shots and he's almost 2.

If she wants to sleep, I would let her. This might last a day or two but let her and try to get back to her normal schedule as soon as possible. My Dr recommended advil or ibeprofin for my daughters shots. It will help for the pain and it will also help if there is swelling. That and it lasts up to 8 hrs. I wish you the best and always trust your mom instincts.

Let her rest, but keep an eye on her.

He body is trying to process out alot of foreign substances (aluminum, formeldahyde etc...) and in a resting state she is best able to do that. If shes sleeping fine, DO NOT give pain meds... thats just one more thing for her body to have to work against and it will make it harder on her.

Keep an eye on her... there have been reports of babies not waking up after shots due to brain swelling.

yes let her rest. also give some infant Tylenol for the pain and fever. she will be fine by tomorrow. also try not to hold her too much the area on the legs may be very sensitive right now. if the area does become really red and hot to the touch then you might want to call her Dr. and ask his opinion. good luck.

I am also a first time mom and after my daughter's shots I was told to give her tylenol and that she would be sleepy all day--I let her sleep and she did a lot better becuase she wasn't crabby. I would let her sleep--she may not be able to keep herself awake. It won't hurt to let her sleep today. Good luck!!

Her little body is working hard. Let her sleep and she'll be better tomorrow. She'll be back to normal in a few days. Try to relax--those shots are hard on moms, too. You can get the dosages for ibuprofin/tylenol here:

of course! why would you deprive a baby of sleep and/or being content? Fevers are rough on them and her little immune system is suddenly working really hard she needs extra rest.
