There is a lot of teens doing drugs in school, and everyone should have to take mandatory drug tests in school.

ok...you people are basically saying no, because it is an invasion of people's privacy and it should only be for people that do extra-curricular activities..and people say that schools are shutting down all the time because lack of teachers and stuff..but i mean maybe drugs have something to do with teachers not wanting to teach at the schools. i dunno it was just a question..that i needed an opinion on!
Thanks

whether I believe there should be or not, the parents need to start being parents and step up to the plate.!! If you start the drug testing their are going to be parents that will say,"Not my child". On the other hand the same will say,"Why can't the school keep drugs out," Whatever, there will be a fight. My answer is Random Drug Testing . But this will never happen really, there shutting down schools right and left because of lacking of funding, lack of teachers and so on.

That's probably a civili rights lawsuit waiting to happen. In certain cases schools have taken up random searches of students to locate drugs or weapons. They also force students to walk through metal detectors as well in certain cases. But requiring drug tests of private citizens might be a stretch.

Education and prevention at school and home or working with teeens to talk about how to avoid/conquer peer pressure might be a better way to lower the usage rates. Also giving kids another path to other highs through sports perhaps, drama, writing, art etc... may also be helpful alternatives to drug use.

Perhaps you could become a driving force in putting and educational program together for your school or work place to help lower drug use in teens in America. Build a vision and others will buy into it and help.

I don't think there should be mandatory. I feel that it's a violation of someone's privacy. I do think there should be mandatory if the student participates in any extracurricular activities such as sports, band, cheer squad, quiz bowl, newspaper. Any activity that is above the normal basic requirement for a diploma.

But I do think there should be mandatory drug testing on anybody receiving government assistance. I know it seems like a stereotype, but there's plenty of people on welfare that just sit around and do drugs all day. I have to take a drug test for my job because I work at a hospital. If I have to take a drug test to get my check then other people should have to take one to get their part of my check.

Yes i feel this needs to be done. So i middle school you might think doing drugs is bad but once you get into highschool you think im sooo cool. In reality your not and so you think it would be could to fit in so you start doing drugs.. I feel everyone should have to take a drug test because most parents need to beware of what their child does. Im pretty sure most teens do not tell the parents that they do drugs but i know that the parents have some clue what their child does. It would be very helpful if the schools made the kids take a drug test.

No there should not be manditory drug testing for all students. However, if a child is suspected of being on drugs, the parents should be contacted and asked if a drug test could be performed.

No. Only for sports. Drug testing for all students is just an evasion of privacy. Just because someone is not an adult and not old enough to vote doesn't mean the people who are adults can do whatever they want to them and say it's for their own good.

No.

It's way too intrusive.

It would cost a lot of money that could be much better spent.

It will yield frequent false results, causing problems for students who haven't used any drugs.

There are ways to cheat, defeating its purpose.

But more than anything, in general, I'm opposed to treating everyone as though they are guilty. This is just wrong.

Your question is known scary. There are too many holes on your concept, notwithstanding it really is commendable. between the info that many human beings over look, except the price of the finding out, notwithstanding the precedence after consequences are in. many everybody is unable to have the funds for well-being coverage and drug rehabilitation. many everybody is unable to get the help they need to stay sparkling. many human beings have drug addictions with the aid of prescriptions that their well-being practitioner prescribes them from surgical treatment, damage and different motives. well-being practitioner's are the biggest drug pushers. rather of weaning human beings off (each so often), they decrease off their provide and folk will supplement their habit elsewhere. it really is illegitimate to get a pill from some different person's prescription. Many "drug sellers" are promoting prescription drugs or replacing drugs. who is going to pay for Rehabilitation? the position are the students going to flow if the Emergency room refuses? ER received't help someone because 'they could't do some thing for someone with a drug habit, until eventually they're an alcoholic". What if the drug try consequences are mixed up the and incorrect newborn is accused? this happens even in our hospitals. i trust there should be extra help for persons with addictions. notwithstanding, rather of providing funding and low-priced well-being care, the authorities extremely lock human beings up. once you're contained in the judicial device, it really is extremely complicated to get out of it to start up your life over.
