The second part of your statement is a very racist remark. It was rude and insutling and I am glad they fired Imus for saying it.
Indian people in general , calling in for Sanjaya is to be expected --he is from their country so they might support him even though he is not a good singer. The same thing happened a couple of seasons ago when a girl (or was it a guy) from Hawaii was on --she/he got lots of votes for a while. To stereotype Indians as telemarketers is just that --stereotyping, but I don't think that it's a racist comment.
In Sanjaya's case,though, I think it's more the
"teenybopper --I love his hair " vote that keeps him on week after week. And there is a website called "Vote for the Worst" that may play into it as well.

Calling someone nappy headed. As for the Sanjaya thing, alot of jobs have been outsourced to india from the US. It's offensive but not that racial. It's not like they said something about his worshiping a cow or something. Or that being an arab he threatened to blow up the judges if he gets kicked off.

neither is racial, they're both only stereotypes. all Indians aren't telemarketers, some are doctors too you know and all of us Blacks don't have nappy hair, some whites have kinky hair as well, i.e. Bill and Chelsea Clinton. Both are just silly statements that could be kept to one's self instead of being spoken aloud.
