Shame on CBS and MSNBC for firing Don Imus in there attempt to distance themselves from a far bigger problem.

Shame on Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson for only being offended when Don Imus and the Rutgers female basketball team are involved.

The problem of racial intolerance is nothing new, it happens across all ethnic lines to some degree or another. If your willing to tolerate it in lyrics of rap artist, from comedians, your next door neighbor, your boss, in any form at all. No one should be surprised when an old relic like Don Imus or others make these types of remarks.

Defending him, what do you expect?

Indeed, old lions get put out of their misery. Time to usher in the new guard.

Forget Obama, McCain and them. Hate for President!!!

Sorry, anyway, I think it had to do with the overblown negative image Jackson and Sharpton were making of Imus.

Imus is known for saying this kind of stuff.....why now does it get blown overboard. Imus DID apologize after all.

I'm not saying what Imus said was right. Just that its only words and he has a history of saying this kind of stuff. Imus WAS the Stern before Howard Stern took the mantle of ShockJock.

The sponsors pulled the backing. Would your boss keep you around if 10 of his 15 accounts threatened to walk unless they fired you? Do the math and stop talking about this stupid subject, or at least read about it other than on here and maybe you will then stop asking stupid questions.

Do not forget that broadcasting is business. Advertisers/Sponsors pay the costs of operation. When Imus's advertisers announced they would no longer back his show, it was no longer profitable for CBS to keep him on the air. Hence, it was a business decision.

You democommies are too quick on the draw. Old Imus had the needle out for anyone. He was ambidextrous and I imagine you heard him put down one of your comrades and immediately thought he was a right winger. He was not right wing but he was too smart to be a democommie.

That was hate radio. He spewed his hatred of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzales on a daily basis. He stayed as long as he did because he was supported by Tim Russert, Chris Dodd, John Kerry, James Carville, Howard Fineman, Johnathan Alter, Ana Marie Cox, Jeff Greenfield, Harold Ford....

It was an inside job, but not by the younger shock jocks. Eugene Robinson sums it up in today's Washington Post.
