My w-4 form was changed without my concent..I have been with the company for 9 years.Not watching my check stubs through out the year..there was no taxes taken out of my check. I now owe almost two thousand $..is there any thing I can do?

Yikes! Sounds like somebody made a mistake, possibly in a switch to a new computer system. You didn't notice you were suddenly getting a lot more money?

All you can do is pay up - you owe it, you didn't pay it already, so you'll have to pay it now. "Pay me now or pay me later" DOES apply. There will probably be a penalty for under-withholding, but it shouldn't be huge.

I assume you've made sure that the W-4 has been corrected so you're not in this same boat next year. And remember that if this went on for a few months in 2007 before you caught it, you're probably somewhat behind for this year too, so might need to increase your withholding for the rest of the year.

Check with the IRS...Ask for an extension on your taxes. Your employer would have to produce a new W-4 showing where you requested this change. If not, they are IN TROUBLE. I would get on this with the IRS right away!

Not for this yr, just get it fixed for next yr
