Maybe if Jay-Z signed him to Def Jam, MSNBC would hire him back.......

I'm guessing this is already in the making of underground music. I doubt it would happen on a commercial scale since they'd need Imus permission... and if he gave them permission to use his sound byte, then he'd lose all face, his previous apologies would mean nothing.
But you are right. There is a double standard. What he said was terrible, whether you are a rapper, a store clerk, a mayor, or an elderly white radio host. He got what he deserved, but I think that means everyone else should get what they deserve as well.

One, you incorrectly placed a comma in the past a query mark interior the call. (whether if that's the positioning's fault then i'm going to retract my assertion). 2, all the Romance Languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, ect.) use greater or less the comparable punctuation. And while they do selection that's usually minor as an occasion as a replace of making use of a decimal element like in 2.20 in France they each so often use a comma so it would be 2,20. (Or because of the fact the guy above me reported, stuff like -ize and -ise, or shade and shade). in spite of everything, that's no longer an excuse for punctuating poorly regularly occurring. because of the fact those are acceptable blunders that no person notices. third, for many folk there's slightly flag under their query that declares their foundation. 4, there are specific Yahoo! answer sites for various languages so that's no longer even completely needed that they arrive right here. (i'm going to make amends that that's no longer my top argument, however the element is, in the event that they even have this form of undesirable carry close on the language then they'd use their own u . s . a .'s Yahoo internet site to get a greater useful reaction). -------------- in spite of everything, the element is, the only people who can relatively use that excuse for punctuating badly are those from China (different important Asian providences), Russia (because of the fact their writing is in cyrillic), India, and doubtless the midsection East. in any different case people would desire to write decently, as that's an illustration of laziness in the event that they do no longer. And specially that's greater good to ascertain for each individual.

Please okay. When you pick up a rap album, it has this little warning on it. So you can choose to listen to it or not. I was unfortunately watching Imus without warning he insulted Blacks AND women!!! I never watched his show really, his slow speech use to help me go to sleep. People have made this man a hero.

All it takes to be a hero now is to insult two different groups and a community will rally around you. Never mind that in any traditional job he would be fired, but it does not matter because he said something negative about the black race.

People are pissed off, why?? An adult knows that if you make your bed, you lie in it. So, so sad

I actually don't really think it was the "hos" that everyone is reacting so strongly to, although obviously that was offensive too. It's the "nappy-headed" part--given that he's a white man. Simple as that. Even Eminem knows better than to bring anything racial into his raps. Of all the crazy offensive stuff he says, you'll never catch the "n" word coming out of his mouth and he damn sure wouldn't call anyone nappy-headed. And yes, you're right, it is a double standard in society. But I sort of think of this way. I can talk all the crap I want about my brother, for example, but I better not catch anyone else talking badly about him, you know? Now if you want to talk about degrading misogynistic lyrics in rap, well, that's a whole other discussion...

get off this subject, its old news. Everybody has moved on including Imus. Pffffff talk shows and radios, Imus is packin heat and bangin it out wit real g's now, he is actually better off on the street, he can make what he made in one month in one week from slingin rocks.

plus imus got off easy, he just lost his job. N.W.A. and 2 live crew had LEGAL action taken against them, their albums where taken off shelves, they were arrested for performing at clubs and concerts, 2 live crew's album As Nasty As They Want to be was made illegal, yes illegal and record stores were prosecuted for selling it.
**** even 2pac and eminem had it worse then Imus, C Delores Tucker made it her life goal to end 2pac's career even after he died she sued the 2pac shakur estate, GLAAD, benzino and women activist still want eminems head. There is a double standard but it dont involve rappers, they already fought for their righ to free speech and even to this day politicians, kids, gays, women, blacks, whites, koreans, werewolves, muslims and everybody else under the sun wants hip hop to be banned. You want proof, ask the question and title it "Hip hop is the best music in the world" get ready for the "hip hop is racist, hip hop is sexist, hip hop is misogynistic, hip hop is not music, rappers are criminals, lets ban hip hop and everything else all the people who hate hip hop will come up with."

Wonderful question. He certainly would not have lost his show if he had been of an ethnical minority and making fun of whites, though he still should never have said such degrading things. Creating equality from society's double standards lies not in favoring any race or by further segregating races by allowing them to create exclusive uses for disparaging terms- it lies in making the rules and allowances of all races equal.

Yeah, we could call it "Wangster rap" and it would be controversial and everyone would talk about it and it would sell a billion copys, then Al sharpton would call for a boycott (so he can get more publicity, and therefore make more money) of white people doing Wangster rap because it is insensitive and not real, Imus would then be fired from Def Jam by Jay-Z and years later write a best selling book that would make him a billion more dollars..................................ect. ect.

I think that people hold Imus to a higher standard then the rap stars. And rememeber that most rappers don't actually rap about how they feel, just what the people wanna hear. but Imus actually said them So Nappy Head Hoes, with a passion, rather then a lyric. And look at his damn hair, come on it was all bush-e and nappy to.

oooh....good point. When is someone finally just going to say no one should be allowed to speak like that, and everyone should be punished for doing so? Like the N-Word, no one should say it, it means ignorant, and is hurtful if you say it as a black person to your friends who are black as a greeting or as a white person to a black person. It's not cool either way, and somebody should speak about that. Just stop the hateful speak all together.

This whole thing isn't really about what he said! The only reason he was fired is because of the big name sponsers threatening to not advertise on his show anymore. Bottom line $$$$$$$$$$$$$!
