there are many ways. a man is drowning you swim to him and pull him to shore or put him in the boat, theres a fire and the guy is confused scared and blind from the smoke and a fireman pulls him out being just as blind as him (smoke can be pretty thick) Soldiers save lives everyday because they save their buddys lives everytime theres a gunshot, a man on a bridge decides he wants to jump onto the freeway then an officer talks him down because death isnt always the answer, and those are just a few examples

It depends on what they need saving from.

Are they in the hospital dying and need a blood transfusion or are they on the road to destruction?

If you are trying to save someone's salvation, only the person themselves can make that commitment. However, you can educate that person why you care so much about them.

If the person is on the road to destruction, best thing to do is pray and ask for guidance on how to help lead that person back into the right direction. Remember, God sent his only Son, Jesus, that we may have hope and everlasting life. We are cleansed of all our sins by Jesus dying on the cross and being raised on the 3rd day. God loves us unconditionally, like a child loves their parents, no matter their deeds. God is there waiting for your friend to call on Him and to trust Him to lead him/her to a whole new life! We can be saved from the "old letter" or "old man" (which is our former selves) and be transformed!

Ultimately, it's up to that person if they want to be saved. Educate them why they should be.

Huge answer. I think the best to say is just to be in the right place at the right time, and have the right know-how. If you want to, take an EMS class so you can learn some of the basics.

What are you talking about? Do you understand that lots of people die everyday from different things? If someone is dehydrated you'd give them fluid right? But if they're drowning you would not.
