He is as far as free speech of certain people is concerned. Unless I see him on TV this week calling for the record companies to fire the rap artist who promote this vile and degrading treatment of women and the boycotting of radio stations that play it. You cannot have it both ways, either it is wrong for all, or it is ok for all.

Barack Obama is the future president of the United States of America. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson are civil rights activists. Just because they were all offended by Imus (who is now a nobody except some dumb body) doesnt make one a puppet of the other. Get a life, dude.

No, not a puppet, but... Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson should be hung out to dry. Those 2 are a couple of the most racist people on the planet and have done more to keep their "people group" down trodden for 20+ years! No 2 people in our country have benefited more from poor black people than them. They disgust me the way they use people.

NO, just because he was offended by the comments does not make him a Sharpton/ Jackson puppet. In fact, Sharpton does not like him and has criticized him. Obama is making him obsolete and showing him up for what he is- a race baiter and an opportunist. Sharpton glommed on to this Imus thing to keep his sorry behind in the news and make himself appear relevant as if he is still a large voice in the black community. He knows his star is fading fast so he did the dirty trick to be in the public eye.
Jackson has endorsed Obama BUT has gone on to say Obama has not asked him to campaign for him and he is not in Obama's inner circle of advisers and fundraisers.

"I just have an appreciation of him," Jackson said.

think ofyou've have been given to now no longer be paying information. Al Sharpton has been maximum outspoken against Obama and greater effective in want of Hillary. each and each are taking a wait and see attitude, yet they are dependable to the Clintons and could help her until eventually the suited. If Obama wins they're going to throw their complete help to him. i think that's unique that Obama has the greater youthful vote. that shows he's inspiring them and we want some theory after 8 years of tyranny below Bush.

Uh, no - all he said was that he has daughters and he wouldn't want them to be called that. He didn't say, "I totally agree with Sharpton and Jackson! I will agree with whatever they say!"

You're ridiculous. Way to link Barack to them just because he's black...of course, any white person offended by Imus wouldn't be a "puppet" of Sharpton and Jackson, just the black guy!

You've figured it out! They all have dark skin, so the younger guy must be controlled by the two older ones.

No, no puppet at all...just another somebody making a statement that anybody else would make if they were offended by Imus's comment.

Not yet, but who would want those racists to turn on them. They could cause allot of damage if they can find a cause to hide behind.
