someone sent a very nasty e-mail to a person from my id, she has filed a police report and luckily i was in jail so it could not have been me, however they have also sent a very nasty e-mail to me and i need to find this very sick person

right click on the e-mail message, click on "properties", the box should have two tabs, click on the details tab, in the lines of coding you will see an ip address after the words received from. It should also show their provider (like Yahoo, AOL, etc.). Hope this helps.

the police can track this by IP adresses that are encoded on the e-mail. for a private citizen to do this would perhaps be expensive...if you wish try and report it to the police.
