It is genetic, and gay people already are normal.

Even the ultra conservative president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has said that scientific research "points to some level of biological causation" for homosexuality & "I am absolutely confident that a large number of homosexuals are telling the truth when they say they did not choose that orientation."

An October 2004 scientific research publication stated that scientists at the University of Padua have found that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men. This fertility boost more than compensates for the lack of offspring fathered by gay men, and keeps the “gay” genetic factors in circulation.

Another study published in Human Genetics in February 2006 examined X chromosome inactivation in mothers of gay sons and mothers whose sons were not gay. Researchers found extreme differences between women who had gay sons and women who did not.

A Canadian university study published in June of 2006 stated that, although researchers have known for years that a man's likelihood of being gay rises with the number of older biological brothers, that the new study found that the so-called "fraternal birth order effect" persists even if gay men were raised away from their biological families.

A January 2007 report suggested to be gay you need to receive one gay gene from both parents, and that those with only one gay gene have a selective advantage because they are heterosexual but have increased style, male sex drive, charm and seductiveness towards women.

Here we go again. You definitely need to do some research. Same gender attraction is quite common in the natural world. Even some right wing Christian conservatives are now acknowledging that homosexuals are born homosexual. It isn't anymore unnatural or, to use your word, less "normal" to be gay than it is to be straight.

I am a straight male. Having said that I just cannot understand the fear and loathing shown to gay members of our community. My life is far richer because of all of the different people with varied lifestyles I have met over the past 50 years. I am grateful to them all and I celebrate whenever two people find each other, regardless of their gender. Christ never once mentioned homosexuality in his ministry. He did mention loving and caring for those around us. We need to emulate that and attack the bigotry around us instead of joining in and attacking the innocent targets of that bigotry.

Gays are gays because they're - suprisingly - gay. That's who they are. It's not a choice.

And, what do you mean by 'normal'? Do you know of anyone who is normal? I don't. Normal is a word used by people who don't want to accept that everyone is different. Little do they realise it's these differences that make us special and unique.

well, people say that the more brothers you have, the higher ur chances are of being gay. but i think that some people are born that way, and there is nothing they can do. Whilst I am not an homosexual , I think that gay people are just like everyone else. Who are YOU to go around denouncing gays as un-normal and straights as NORMAL?

Sure people can return to normal. We can choose our destiny and our path on life.

My Stepdaughter was gay in high school. We told her that we loved her but would not accept her choice.

After about 6 years she realized that her life was going nowhere, so she dumped her partner, got help, we were there to support her and now she's engaged to a fine young man.

Yes people can change.

People are both either LGBT or straight. This is not a "choice" and does not change over time.

Since they are both this way, both are "normal" - neither inborn orientation is more "right" or "moral" than the other. You question would be like asking, "My friend has blue eyes - can her eyes change to brown to be normal?"

Some people take longer than others to realize their true nature. However, again, there is no changing what you were born to be.

It sounds like some basic education may be in order for you. Good luck with your learning!
