It is actually recognized as a psychiatric condition. Not thinking is however usually more dangerous. As in everything else, a middle of the road attitude is best.

Well the fact that you used the word "too" implies that "thinking too much" isn't good. I think what you really mean is "could there be a case where thinking a lot causes something dangerous to happen, and so the thinking was too much?"

I would say that obviously if there is a bus coming towards you and you thought an awful lot before making a decision as to whether to jump left or right then the bus hits you, in that case something dangerous happened after a person thought a lot and so they could be said to have thought too much. This would go for all things where any decision is better than no decision.
However in general, where time permits (which I think it does for many important questions) then thinking an awful lot would be a good thing. The decision may lead to deaths, and so the decision for the dead could be said to have been dangerous, but through thinking it out for that length of time probably meant that it was the best decision overall.

Many people who feel thinking a lot ("too much") is dangerous feel that way because they fear people may not come to the decision they like the most, whether it be political, religious or anything, and so they label it as Too Much.
But personally I fear people no thinking enough far more and apart from where time is short I would encourage strongly that people think as much as possible, though of course not to the detriment of other important things in their lives like their job, their children, eating etc. It's proberbly safer to go on assuming going to work is a good thing before you come to a fully thought out decison about it whether or not to continue.

In regards to over analysing it may be best to think about whether or not it would be dangerous/ a good thing to think critically about things such as relationships. You may decide that even if it is possible the other person has betrayed you, analysing whether or not they have by having a prolonged think and working yourself up about it, isn't a good idea in itself. (This of course being a personal thing, where you are encouraging or discouraging yourself and not others to not think about a certain issue)

Easy answer:

The following people thought too much:

Socrates, Jesus, Galileo, Thomas Moore (martyr of the Catholic Church) Leon Trotsky (assassinated by Stalin).

Yes, it can be very dangerous. The problem is, without those who do what is forbidden, thinking when uniformity is demanded, where would we be today? What the real question is, is whether people have the courage to think knowing that there are times when it could be dangerous, but don't know. Authoritarianism doesn't come slowly, it comes in a sudden rush, and it'll retroactively round up dissidents. The real problem is that those who think, can often see this comming...so is it not dangerous to think too little?

Yes thinking too much is the root of all evils ,
I believe it was Descartes that said "we are what we think " and I believe it was the grates disservice to humans to make them believe that . One has to realize that thinking is a product of the brain , it is a tool just as the hand is a tool , the brain has a tendency to go hand in hand with the ego , and as such it has a propensity to solve problems , but to solve problems has to imagine the problem and it becomes an always paranoid and for ever assuming . the brain should be used sparingly to deal with daily life necessities ,planing future and same times visit the past , one should learn to live in the present ,right now this moment and smell the roses , there would be allot less fighting and wars ,people would lead a happier life .

It's dangerous to think too much or too long when in the path of an express train. This is only my hypothesis and of course as such it has to be tested and proved.- I'll leave that to you. Let us know the result. Meanwhile, just what are you getting at in your Q?

The danger is thinking too narrowly. In times like ours, when there's been a set of conventional assumptions in place for several centuries, and the paradigm is spent and exhausted, thinking conventionally leads only to frustration and neurosis.
___The relevant assumptions are deep metaphysical assumptions, not the relatively shallow assumptions that many nitwit intellectuals question and then pat themselves on the back for thinking "radically". The American left and feminists are especially guilty of this.
___But the American right is guilty of thinking too little. They seem to think that economics is a deep discipline.

I believe God gave us the ability to think and the right to chose what direction our life will go. We don't always know the outcome to ours choices, but without thought and reasoning out the possible outcomes we will be lead wrong. We are deceived enough with thought. Don't go blindly into that good night, without thinking you won't learn and without learning you can't move forward. The lord Jesus Christ did everything with thought and prayer for guidance from the Lord. That takes allot of thought and being open to hear the voice of God for his will to be done. People who control people like to make you think that thinking is dangerous. In order to become who you are to be make up your own mind, because at the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ each of us will be held responsible for our actions even the small unnoticeable ones

I don't think(?) so. In some cases it can be dangerous to express what you think. But to actually think... is never too much, I guess. It is much more dangerous to feel too much...

It would be impossible to think too much as the mind never stops thinking even asleep we dream as where our mind continues to think even when we desire it to rest. Rather it would be dangerous or not well we have little choice in that matter.

It deepens on what you are thinking about....The intention behind the thought...The self-talk that arises....What are the actions that follow the thinking? Remember that thinking is the language of thought, which leads to the emotional state. Is the emotion productive. Ask yourself what the intention of the thought is, where does it lead..hence the question to your answer..."Is it dangerous to think too much?
