the tatoos they do today do not go so deeply into the skin there should be no bleeding or fading as with the old type, they went deeper into the layer of fat and spread as it broke down. as long as you moisturize and keep from turning your skin leathery in the sun (tanning is always a bad idea) you should be fine, just remember to get something that you'll still like at 50 or 60!

If you are thinking about all that then forget the tattoo.

I have one--took me three years to work up the nerve (fear of pain from horror stories I had heard about tattoos gone bad). Its on the small of my back where I can show it if I like and hide it if I want too. I could care less what it will look like when I'm sixty. As long as I take care of myself now I will age gracefully and maybe my tattoo will be just as intriguing as it is now.

You and me both! I've had my art ready for 3 yrs but am worried #1 of the pain and #2 that it's permanent and may look funny when I'm 60! lol

LOL you must be very young. Your skin won't start to pucker or wrinkle until you are in your 60's and 70's or more and only if you don't take care of yourself or get severely overweight.

Honey, if you are worried...then don't. Mine started fading out a long while back. The reds aren't as vibrant as they once were.

yea, my mom asked me about mine when I am old. I told her I wasn't planning on showing a lot of skin when I'm old anyway.

If you have any doubts about it, don't do it. That's my rule about a lot of things!! Trust your instincts.

They look ridiculous.
I'm a nurse and I've seen what they look like.
