The question of playing online games for free keeps coming up as a question. The game is not that expensive and the monthly fee is nominal. If you were to play Wow 4 hours a day for 30 days it comes to 12 cents an hour! That is cheaper than cable TV or any Cell phone plan.
If you were 13 and got $10 a week allowance it is still enough to buy and have money left over for the whole month.
You play it free forever but you would be playing a new nooby character every 10 days. You could continually get the 10 day free trial and continually get to build characters to 1 - 12 every 10 days.
or
Get the 10 day free trial. $0
Buy the base game (target.com) which comes with 30 days $20
2 month game card $30
You can even take breaks in between payments. Your account will not be deleted while it is in a frozen state.

You really can't, you either have to buy the CD or download the game from Blizzard at the exact same cost.
The original game is much cheaper now a days than it originally was, about a month's worth of playtime actually, and it comes with a free month, so that basically reduces the cost to a few dollars plus tax!
If you are just trying to discover whether you like WoW or not, get the 10 day trial and try it out.

Many people have tried pirating World of Warcraft accounts with minimal success.
1. The closes you could get is by playing the demo which only lasts for serveral days. (Downloading takes a very long time)
2. Otherwise you may be forced to borrow off a friend who has the CD and who will allow you to share the account he/she has made.
3. If it is payment that troubles you, you don't need a credit card. Try the pre-paid cards.
Wow accounts need continuous payment to remain valid, hence it is nearly impossible to obtain an account without continuously feeding money into it.
