do you remember that the same issue happened with tobacco companies? they target everyone, including children. the difference between tobacco and fast food is that fast food is, well, food and tobacco is simply poison. commercials are supposed to be there to inform you about the new things that companies are doing but they do more than that: they make the food appear delicious, healthy and fresh when it's not. fast food is extrememly unhealthy. it's not that fast food commercials should be banned but the rules should be changed. for example simply inform the public about the new sandwhich they are now selling at burger king. things like that.

No, fast food should not be banned. The banning of things that some people think other people shouldn't do should be banned. If there is a particular food additive that is shown to be demonstrably harmful, then the FDA should ban that additive. But you can't reasonably ban the things that lots and lots of humans have been eating for thousands of years, like cows, pigs and corn, all of which have lots of fat and calories.

I don't think it should be banned. That would impose on the 'freedom of speech' law. Maybe within those ads though, they may insert some detail (such as cigarette companies do) on the dangers of eating high-fat food.

We don't advertise crack, and there are plenty of people who still use it.

As adults, we make our own choices in life. We have to live with those choices.
