I will be traveling to Riga, Latvia in a few months. Please inform me of any cultural differances I should be aware of.
Do not want to offend anyone(by accident anyway).

I don't know why danny put the link to very weird video about our president - she is a great leader.
The main difference you should be aware of people don't smile so much aka don't seem to be friendly as they are in USA, but there are many good people in Latvia. It's just not in our mentality to rise and shine ;) you shouldn't have problems getting around, many people in Riga speak English.
Keep an eye on your wallet - don't put it in a easy to see and grab place.
I'm from Riga myself currently living in Toronto. Riga is a great city. feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions.

people put too much emphasis on physical appearance, most women are obsessed with diets and most of men act like women - divas, and dress what here would be considered as gay.
they dont smile and say hi, mostly angry people and they dont really know how to express their feelings.
they are more educated in any way - americans are educated maybe in one thing - their job and what they do - but outside of that...not very life smart.
nightlife - dress to impress - women wear high heals even in old town where its hard to walk on rocks even in sneakers.
im from latvia, i have lived in the usa for 4 years and unfortunately i have to go back for good soon.
