just because his was so much more offensive and racist then what Don Imus said. not that I'm defending don Imus in the least, i was just wondering cause i can't remember any public statements or anything like that from Al Sharpton in reference to that.

thats exaclty what I'm getting at, i think what is happening to Imus is so unfair . simply because Michael Richards apolisgized and everything was forgotten and Imus apologized for something not even as racist and he is still on the chopping board

I know Jesse Jackson came out somewhat during that, but once Richards apologized, he became all buddy-ish with him and things died down. I found what Richards said to be much more offensive and disturbing than what Imus said, and I don't understand why Imus is being targeted more aggressively than Richards was. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm pretty sure he did. I remember watching CNN the morning when the video was released of Richards stand-up act. I'm pretty sure Sharpton was on CNN commenting about it.

I do not agree with what Michael Richards did one bit, I think he made a complete *** of himself and was totally wrong, however I did notice that the "offended" black audience retaliated with "cracker" and very offensive anti-white comments. I remember sitting in front of my TV thinking, "Why is no one commenting on the anti-white comments that were said to Richards?"

Yes Richards was wrong, yes he should have apologized, yes he is most likely a racist, BUT those people who were watching his comedy act were no better for calling him anti-white racist slurs.

If a black person walks up to me and calls me a cracker, does that give me the right to call them a n igger? Of course not. It is never a good idea to stoop to someone else's level because you are then doing the exact same thing you were judging them for in the first place, and uh well that makes you a big fat hypocrite!

And why is this stuff getting so much media attention? I honestly would like to believe that for the most part people are not all that racist. Why are we giving a couple of rotten apples so much media attention which just causes more racial tension in America.

There was nothing to fight against in the Richards incident. They were only able to bully Richards and perhaps the comedy club. With the Imus incendent they had CBS Corp and GE to black mail.

Lisa,

Your forgetting one thing. The FCC. There are certain things i don't want to hear on my public radio stations. I can't walk into a comedy club and not expect something like what richards said. Just like i don't want to see Janet Jacksons Boob at the super bowl. I can't expect that same secruity when watching HBO

I dont know about Sharpton, but I distinctly remember Jackson having Richards on his show on Jackson forgave him.

I thought Sharpton was starting to get mellow, guess i was wrong, never liked that guy!

looks to me he's dedicated to the income of each and every creed, and no, i did no longer pass over on the spelling of prophet. short-sighted Al worships the Awmighty greenback and a real carney con who supplies even the lowliest grifter a bad call. If he could no longer roust the emotions of African-individuals by his very own epidermis shade, he'd be in white-face shouting "Oogah Boogah" in Yankee Stadium. ok, Al, that's SHOWTIME!
