Gee, is it because she is black and they dont want riots out there? I think she has done ALOT of damage ....and she should have to make some compensation.

Welcome to African-America. Politicians, the media, and whining crying liberals are so damned worried about political correctness and being labled racist that common sense is thrown out the window and many blacks get free passes to do whatever they please.
You can't even state facts without being labled a racist anymore. FACT: There are more Black males between 18 and 24 in PRISON than COLLEGE. Lemmee guess, I'm a racist, right?
FACT: The number one cause of death of Black males 18-30? MURDER. Who's killing them? In racist America, it must be whites, right? WRONG, it's other Blacks.
FACT: You call someone "Black" and it's considered "racist", but never when you call someone "White".
Hey, I'm not White, I'm German-American, and to call me anything different would be offending to me...What bullshit.

It's much more complicated than that, obviously something did happen that night. DNA evidence exonerated those accused but confirmed that intercourse did occur with 4 different men that night. The fact that it was not these players does not prove that they weren't involved in some way, just that they didn't actually engage in the act.
It is unfortunate though that it became such a media circus before enough evidence was collected to validate a case and ascertain who should have been arrested. It happens all the time (similar recent story here: http://www.wcsh6.com/news/national/article.aspx?storyid=57242 ) and blame should be laid on the DA's office as it is in this case.
And of course, the players may be able to press civil charges against her, but really what would they have to gain? She's a stripper who is now a single mom.

-The Duke accuser is mentally unstable. She changed her story many times, and believes each story.
-Nifong took the case and ran with it so he could get reelected, he didn't care about the victim, the accusers, or the community. He didn't look over the evidence before talking to the press.
-The "poor" Duke boys are rich college athletes, who were drunk, who hired escorts for over 20 males, who were heard by neighbors yelling racist slurs at the women. They are well-known in the community for being obnoxious, lewd, and bullies. Their coach did nothing about their inappropriate actions on or off-campus. They were allowed to run wild by the University. I'm only too happy the coach is fired and these thugs are being held in check, so the community is safe from their disgusting behavior.
Unfortunately, because of Nifong's self-serving actions, and an unstable woman, it's open field for rapists in our community.

If she was white she could be charged with filing a false police report. A lying black slut the screwed 10 guys the night of the party gets nothing.

She is not being prosecuted because she is not stable. She has a mental disorder and is under a doctors care and on some serious medications. Actulaully, that is why the charges were eventually dropped. The prosecutors and everyone involved are under the understanding that she really believed what she said happened really happened.
The DA is in trouble because if he would have investigated thoroughly he would have found that she has always been unstable and was off and on medication for mental unstableness her entire life.
It really is a shame what happened to those Duke players.

It certainly seems like she should, but I have heard that the woman has many mental health issues. Consequently, the popular belief is that more blame should be placed on Nifong, et all, for allowing her crazy complaints to go as far as they did.
Edit: Ladivivanco...You may know your history, but you obviously don't know this case. Old wrongs are no excuse for new wrongs.

She should do the same time that the guys she falsely accused would have done if convicted.
And the crooked prosecutor Nifong should do twice that, since he was in a position of trust.

I definitely agree. I think she should be penalized for making false accusations and making it harder for myself and other victims of rape to be believed. She trivialized the trauma that I experienced, and is nothing but a life-ruining attention whore. She sickens me.

People who file false police reports, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, color of their skin, gender, etc.... should be charged with criminal mischief and filing a false police report. And I wouldn't blame those 3 Duke students if they sued her, the previous DA, and anyone else they can think of, in civil court.
