I don't watch American Idol, but I was listening to the radio yesterday morning and the announcer was talking about it, and played a clip. Simon asked him how old he was, the guy said 80ish, and asked if he could try again. Simon said "no. You tried twice, most people only get one chance. We've had a bad day and you are by far the worst one today." I guess the announcer could have been joking, but that would be a stupid joke. Anyway, I checked on the A.I. web site and didn't find it. The guy was along the lines of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc.
Thanks

It was the great Tony Bennett in a parody of the audition process...it was all a joke. The clip aired on 4/11, it was hilarious.

Haha I'd say good ol' Bobby D "sold out" a while ago. Victorias Secret commercial, anyone? But the thing with Bob Dylan is, he knows what he's doing is considered "selling out" (look what happened when he went electric) and he doesn't give a ****. THAT is what makes him an amazing musician. I mean, really, what IS selling out? Just because an artist is on American Idol, a TV show watched by MILLIONS, are they selling out, or just helping their career & entertaining their fans? If anyone like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Robert Plant, etc performed on American Idol I would not consider it selling out. They are entertainers, entertaining their fans. I would just consider American Idol extremely lucky to have such legends performing on their stage, and I think those musicians deserve a lto of respect for that.

Good memory on the dialog.

That was Tony Bennett going a spoof off of last year with Taylor Hicks and how they could not believe he was only 29.
