Then you could brag about being the only one in the neighborhood having an exotic pet.

No, while they can be tamed if hand raised, they are not pets. The cost to feed one is also sky high. They need about 10lb of meat per day. Look at the cost of even 1lb at your local meat market, butcher, or store. Add to that the cost of an enclosure which will meet municiple standards... very pricy. Getting an animal just to show off is never a good reason to get an animal. For exotics especially you have to really love the species and know your stuff. I have found even hybrids are interesting to say the least for dealing with. They are not just big house cats. Also, don't forget you need a lot of space for a tiger. It's not fair to keep it in a small house. Finally, a lion or tiger is still a wild animal, even hand raised and they can and will maul or kill you.

No you couldn't, because you'd be dead.

I like tigers and lions very much, but I'm not currently suicidal, so i'll stick to watching them on the nature channels.

In my perfect little world, a tiger.. simply because they are so beautiful. But in reality, nope not a good idea.

Maybe if I'm rich one day, I'll run a big cat sanctuary...
